Holly DeNeve

Attorney

Holly DeNeve is an attorney based in Indiana who has dedicated her legal career to child welfare. For over 10 years, she served at the Indiana Department of Child Services, where she handled complex, sensitive cases involving children and families, particularly in St. Joseph County. Her work was grounded in careful preparation, steady focus, and a strong sense of purpose, often carried out without public attention but with lasting impact on the lives of those she served.

Holly graduated from New Prairie High School in 2004 and earned a degree in political science with a minor in environmental studies in 2008, graduating magna cum laude. In 2011, she completed her Juris Doctor and passed the Indiana Bar Exam. From the start, she chose public service over private practice, guided by a commitment to helping vulnerable individuals navigate the legal system.

Her career at the Department of Child Services began as a temporary legal assistant and progressed to a full-time attorney role in St. Joseph County. She worked on a wide range of legal matters, including cases involving children in need of services, adoptions, guardianships, and termination of parental rights. Her responsibilities included drafting motions, conducting discovery, interviewing witnesses, and handling courtroom proceedings. She was known for her reliability, professionalism, and calm demeanor in high-pressure situations.

Holly worked closely with caseworkers, prosecutors, and judges while staying up to date on changes in the law and legal standards. Her knowledge and communication skills led to invitations to present at several continuing legal education seminars. In 2016, she briefly stepped away from the department but returned shortly after, continuing her service until September 2025, a decision that reflected her strong dedication to the field.

Outside of her legal work, she and her husband supported local programs through donations and community involvement. Her early law school experience helping survivors of domestic violence strengthened her belief in the importance of accessible legal support.

Holly DeNeve now looks forward to launching a solo practice focused on mediation, guardian ad litem services, and child protection, continuing the values that have guided her throughout her legal journey.
